
Charity Adusei is currently a medical student at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and also pursuing her Masters degree at the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health. Her passionate interest in issues related to maternal and child health has inspired her to pursue a profession in medicine that cares for this vulnerable population as well as train in a public health program that can help her understand the challenges that face women and children as a result of social, cultural and environmental factors. Raised by a father who believed in the high value of educating his daughters in spite of cultural and social barriers, Charity has come to appreciate the worth of her education and is now a strong proponent of empowering women globally. By being a part of ARA-W, her dream of leveling the playing field between women and men in exceling and contributing to scientific and medical advancement can be realized. She considers it a privilege to be part of the team at ARA-W, and she is excited to see more women contribute to the advancement of evidence-based practices in Africa.
